Fee transparency

What’s Included. What’s Not.

Every engagement letter lists inclusions and exclusions explicitly. This is the general pattern — your specific engagement letter is the source of truth.

Included in the fee

  • Our professional time — adviser hours, review hours, admin.
  • Deliverables as named — written reports, returns filed, letters sent.
  • Standing monthly / quarterly calls — agreed cadence on retainers.
  • WhatsApp & email support — 24h working response, within reasonable volume.
  • Client portal — Dext / Xero HQ subscription where applicable.
  • FTA correspondence handling — routine queries, not full audit defence (that’s a project).
  • PI insurance cover — on all engagements.
  • UAE VAT on our fees — shown separately on invoices.

Not included (charged at cost or separately)

  • UAE licence & renewal fees — paid directly to Free Zone or DED.
  • UAE visa & Emirates ID fees — govt & typing-centre fees at cost.
  • Bank account opening fees — charged by the bank directly.
  • Legalisation / notarisation / translation — at cost.
  • UAE Tax Residency Certificate fees — FTA application cost.
  • Xero / QBO / Dext subscriptions — at cost unless bundled in Starter.
  • External audit — introduced from partner network, billed separately by them.
  • Immigration lawyer / UAE litigation lawyer — specialist external services.
Pricing questions

Pricing, Explained.

Are all your fees really fixed?
Yes — on everything that fits a packaged shape. One-off engagements are quoted as a fixed project fee. Annual compliance is quoted as a fixed annual fee. Monthly retainers are quoted as a fixed monthly fee. We only use hourly billing if you specifically request it — and almost nobody does. Scope changes are quoted in writing before the work starts. No surprise invoices at month-end. Our full process is on the Our Process page.
Why do you show prices in GBP, EUR and INR as well as AED?
Because clients budget in their home currency. UK groups budget in GBP; European CFOs in EUR; Indian clients in INR. We quote in the client’s preferred currency, convert at interbank rate at the time of invoice, and bill in AED (UAE regulatory requirement). Fee certainty beats fee elegance — if your budget is in INR, we quote in INR.
What’s NOT included in the fee?
External costs charged at cost: UAE licence fees, visa and Emirates ID application fees, bank account opening fees, legalisation / notarisation / translation, government application fees, TRC application fees, courier costs, software subscriptions (Xero / QBO / Dext at cost). Specialist external services (independent audit, immigration lawyer, UAE litigation lawyer) are introduced from our partner network and billed separately by them. The engagement letter lists every exclusion explicitly.
Can I get a bespoke quote not shown here?
Yes — for anything that doesn’t fit a packaged shape. M&A tax due diligence, pre-IPO cleanup, group restructuring, UAE litigation support, specialist advisory projects — all quoted bespoke. We send a written fixed-fee quote within two business days of the Discovery Call. The packaged pricing on this page covers 90% of engagements; bespoke covers the other 10%.
How do you handle VAT on your own fees?
Our services provided to UAE businesses are subject to UAE VAT at 5% (we’re VAT-registered with the FTA). UAE Free Zone clients may qualify for zero-rated supply where in a Designated Zone. UK sister firm’s services provided to UK clients attract UK VAT at 20% where applicable. Non-UAE non-UK clients: usually outside the scope of local VAT, with reverse-charge potentially applying at your end — your own tax adviser confirms.
Do you require upfront deposits?
For one-off reviews and projects: usually 50% deposit on engagement, balance on delivery. For setup packages: 50% on engagement, 50% at live-trading milestone. For monthly retainers: first month in advance, then monthly in arrears. For annual compliance: usually quarterly or six-monthly billing. All agreed in the engagement letter before work starts. We accept bank transfer (AED, GBP, EUR, INR) and card payment.
