Terms & Conditions.
Terms of website use plus the standard engagement terms under which The Tax Lead provides tax and accounting services.
In these terms
1. Website use
Using this website (thetaxlead.ae and its subdomains) means you accept these terms. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the website. We may update these terms at any time; the ‘Last updated’ date above shows the current version.
Content on this website is for general information. It is not personal tax, legal or financial advice. Taking action on anything here without a signed engagement letter and specific advice is at your own risk.
2. Engagement with us
A professional engagement with The Tax Lead starts only when:
- A written scope and fixed-fee quote have been agreed, AND
- A signed engagement letter has been exchanged, AND
- The first instalment or deposit has been received by us.
Our full engagement process is set out in Our Process. The engagement letter is the primary legal document governing our relationship; where it conflicts with these general terms, the engagement letter wins.
3. Fees & payment
Fees are fixed and agreed in writing in the engagement letter before any work begins. Our full fee menu is published at /pricing/.
Terms:
- One-off projects: 50% deposit on engagement, 50% on delivery, unless otherwise agreed.
- Setup packages: 50% on engagement, 50% at live-trading milestone.
- Monthly retainers: first month in advance, then monthly in arrears.
- Annual compliance: quarterly or six-monthly billing, agreed in writing.
- Invoices payable within 14 or 30 days (per engagement letter). Late payment attracts statutory interest.
- UAE VAT at 5% applies where chargeable; shown separately on invoices.
- Govt / licence / visa / third-party costs are charged at cost in addition to the fee.
4. Scope & limits
The engagement letter sets out exactly what we’ll do and what’s excluded. In general:
- We provide UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, Free Zone QFZP, transfer pricing, bookkeeping, IFRS, business setup and UK-UAE cross-border services as described on this site.
- We do not provide statutory audit services, legal services (we work with external lawyers), or regulated financial advice (we work with external IFAs).
- We do not represent you in any UAE or UK court, tribunal or litigation without a separate written litigation engagement.
- Scope changes are quoted and agreed in writing before implementation. No surprise fees.
5. Confidentiality & privilege
Everything you share with us in the course of an engagement is confidential and covered by professional privilege to the fullest extent available under UK and UAE law. We disclose only where legally compelled (court order, HMRC / FTA statutory information notice, UK or UAE AML suspicious-activity report).
Our team members, software providers and introduced professional partners are bound by equivalent confidentiality obligations.
6. Intellectual property
All content on this website (text, structure, design, playbooks, logos) is © 2026 The Tax Lead Limited. You may read, print and share pages for personal / internal business use with attribution. Commercial republication, scraping, AI training, or framing without written permission is prohibited.
Work-product delivered under an engagement (reports, analyses, documents, workpapers) is yours to use within your organisation but may not be shared with third parties as if authored by them.
7. Liability & PI insurance
We carry professional indemnity (PI) insurance appropriate to our practice. The engagement letter will set a liability cap specific to each engagement (typically 3-5x the engagement fee, subject to minimum / maximum per our PI policy).
We are not liable for:
- Delay or failure caused by regulators, banks, courts or other third parties outside our control.
- Loss arising from facts you knew but did not disclose to us.
- Indirect, consequential or purely financial loss not foreseeable at engagement.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate a monthly retainer engagement with 30 days’ written notice at any time. Fixed project engagements run to completion but you can withdraw at any point, with fees prorated to work done up to that point.
On termination we provide reasonable handover support (document transfer, information for successor adviser) at an additional reasonable fee if the engagement letter so provides.
9. Regulatory & disputes
The Tax Lead Limited is a firm of Chartered Certified Accountants regulated by ACCA (ID shown on request). Registered as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) with UK Companies House. UK HMRC agent code holder.
The UAE arm is registered with the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as a VAT practitioner and operates pending completion of UAE free zone establishment. IFZA Strategic Partner.
Complaints: raise directly with us via our Complaints procedure. If unresolved, UK clients may complain to ACCA; UAE clients may escalate to UAE FTA where in scope.
10. Governing law
Each engagement letter specifies its governing law. By default:
- UK-side engagements: English law, exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
- UAE-side engagements: UAE Federal law and ADGM/DIFC law where specifically engaged, UAE courts of competent jurisdiction.
- Dual-side cross-border engagements: usually English law with carve-outs for UAE-specific obligations — agreed per letter.
This website and these general terms: English law, English courts.
